Summer's Walk Devo Begins
for Summer
This summer, while you have
extra time, take up an extra challenge.! This summer's challenge
is a journey through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, reading some
of the key chapters that will guide you through God's Story of
Redemption. The challenge is to read 1 Chapter a day focusing on
some of the most important chapters in the Bible, chapters such as
Genesis 1 & 3, Proverbs 16, John 15, Romans 12, and Revelation 22.
So don't just waste your summer, but take up the challenge to spend time
in God's Word with the new Summer's Walk with God Challenge. Pick
up your Summer's Walk with God Reading Checklist in the Fellowship Hall

Out Of The Closet - Next
Generation Worship Service
Christians are letting their skeletons OUT OF THE CLOSET and letting the
world know who they were "then" and who they are now. Join us on
Sunday, July 18th from 6:30 - 8:30 at 709 Railroad Street, Johnstown, PA
where Megan Miklos will be the guest speaker. Megan is a strong
woman who grew up in a dysfunctional home and endured abuse as a teen.
Her story is one of inner healing and forgiveness. Special music
will be by Adam Strawcotter. Come hear Megan's story of redemption and
invite your friends!

Kennywood!
emerge will be traveling to world famous
Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, July 21st. We will be
meeting in the church parking lot at 10 am and returning at 11 pm.
The ticket costs $25 and you will need spending money for food.
This is a great opportunity to invite a friend. You must reserve
your spots in advance so sign up ASAP. Kennywood is
known for being the coaster capital of the world and they have alot of
other great rides too. . something for everyone!! This is one of
the highlights of the summer and you won't want to miss the fun and
fellowship!

Vacation
Bible School
This year Vacation Bible School will be
held on July 26th through the 30th. Each summer, OUMC hosts a Vacation Bible
School, a week long experience, for Children ages 4 through 6th
grade. The theme this year is Hero HeadQuarters! emerge
Youth will be encouraged to serve and younger ones attending Hero
Headquarters!

Caddie Shak Trip
Join us on August 4th as our emerge goes to CaddieShak in Donegal,
PA for some serious fun. We will be riding go-karts, playing
mini-golf, doing batting cages and eating food for 3 whole hours.
This is a great night of fun so sign up today on our emerge page for
Facebook or at church in the youth room. Cost is $15 and time is 5
pm and 10:30 pm. You must be signed up in advance to attend and
don't forget to bring a friend!

Chinese Food & Bowling!
The OUMC youth will be going out on
the town with an afternoon of good food and bowling at Richland Lanes on
August 11th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Cost is $15 for everything!

5th Annual Block Party
Come one, come all to the 5th Annual Block Party on Saturday, August
14th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Stay as little or as long as you
like. There is free food, children's activities, great music and
entertainment, pony rides and much more! Everything is FREE so
come on down and get to know your neighbors and make some new friends!
The Block Party is a fun day for everyone in the entire family.

Picnic
Mark your calendar for Sunday, August 22nd
for the Annual OUMC Church Picnic at the Quemahoning Dam.
The picnic will take place beginning at 1:00 pm
for lunch with hot dogs provided by the church. A Covered Dish
Supper will begin at 5:00 pm. There will be lots of fun things
to do for everyone so bring the entire family! |

MercyMe makes their way to the
Cambria County War Memorial in Johnstown for a concert at 7 pm on
Saturday, October 16thth. Special Guest will be Phil Wickman.
Ticket prices are $17 up to $77 and are on sale now. MercyMe is an
American contemporary Christian band founded in Greenville, Texas.
The band consists of vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Bryson,
percussionist Robin Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarists
Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul. The band formed in 1994 and
released six independent albums prior to signing with INO Records in
2001. The group first gained mainstream recognition with the
crossover single, "I Can Only Imagine" which elevated their debut album.
Almost There, to becoming certified double platinum. Since then,
the group has released five additional studio albums, four of which have
been certified gold, and a greatest hits album. MercyMe has won
numerous Dove Awards and has had various Grammy Award nominations.

Any students interested in joining the S. A. L. T. Team which is
emerge's Student Action Leadership Team to go deeper in your walk with

monthly Bible Study, service opportunities and the chance to help shape
the youth ministry with your Student Leadership Ideas.

Youth Praise Band
This band provides a relevant means for
youth to experience and help lead worship to the congregation at OUMC.
The Youth Praise Band performs once a month at the 11:00 am Contemporary
Worship Service and is led by Matt Price. The Band provides a
strong foundation for youth to lead worship through the art of music.
The band is comprised of a wide variety of instruments and vocals. If
