Kids Camp @ Jumonville
CALLING ALL KIDS!!! This summer we will be heading off to Jumonville
for camp on July 14th - 17th. All children who have completed
second through sixth grades are invited to attend. Our days will
be filled with lots of great camp activities, campfires, hiking,
swimming, crafts and lots more!! We will spend time each day
learning more about the Bible and ways we can grow to be more like
Jesus. we will have an informational meeting in June for more
specific details.

Pancake Breakfast
Laura Courtney is holding a Pancake
Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall to help raise money for her mission
trip to Ukraine. The event will be held on Saturday, July 17th

Out Of The Closet - Next
Generation Worship Service
Christians are letting their skeletons OUT OF THE CLOSET and letting the
world know who they were "then" and who they are now. Join us on
Sunday, July 18th from 6:30 - 8:30 at 709 Railroad Street, Johnstown, PA
where Megan Miklos will be the guest speaker. Megan is a strong
woman who grew up in a dysfunctional home and endured abuse as a teen.
Her story is one of inner healing and forgiveness. Special music
will be by Adam Strawcotter. Come hear Megan's story of redemption and
invite your friends!

Great Food
For All
Great Food For All is hosted by
Calvary United Methodist Church in Windber. Great Food is a
program which offers discounted price food boxes. A Basic Family
Food Box is $30 and the Empty Nester is $20. Pick up date is Saturday,
July 24th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Food must be ordered ahead of

Lab School
This year the Conference is doing a
one day Lab School here at Oakland Church. It will be held
from 8 am to 8 pm on Saturday, July 24th. This is highly
recommended for anyone who is in the Children's Ministry. It's
a chance to re-charge your batteries, renew your enthusiasm and
learn more effective ways to teach God's Word to young children
through Jr. Youth. the Registration Fee is 40 which includes
the cost of meals and resources. Children are free.
Registration forms are on the News Tables in the Bedford or Ferg

Vacation
Bible School
This year Vacation Bible School will be
held on July 26th through the 30th. Each summer, OUMC hosts a Vacation Bible
School, a week long experience, for Children ages 4 through 6th
grade. The theme this year is Hero HeadQuarters! We will
meet nightly from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and on Friday night Parents and
interested members of the OUMC Church Family are invited to join and
children for a night of VBS. At Hero HeadQuarters, kids will meet
unlikely Bible heroes who are often overlooked. In fact, we don't
know a single one of their names! They were not famous leaders or
called by God to perform amazing miracles - yet their small acts were
used by God to do wonderful things! At VBS kids will discover that if
they're willing to be used by God in any situation, no matter how big or
small, they can make a difference. With God's power at work, they
can be heroes right where they are! For more information on VBS,

5th Annual Block Party
Come one, come all to the 5th Annual Block Party on Saturday, August
14th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Stay as little or as long as you
like. There is free food, children's activities, great music and
entertainment, pony rides and much more! Everything is FREE so
come on down and get to know your neighbors and make some new friends!
The Block Party is a fun day for everyone in the entire family.

OUMC Church
Picnic
Mark your calendar for Sunday, August 22nd
for the Annual OUMC Church Picnic at the Quemahoning Dam.
The picnic will take place beginning at 1:00 pm
for lunch with hot dogs provided by the church. A Covered Dish
Supper will begin at 5:00 pm. There will be lots of fun things
to do for everyone so bring the entire family! |

MercyMe makes their way to the
Cambria County War Memorial in Johnstown for a concert at 7 pm on
Saturday, October 16thth. Special Guest will be Phil Wickman.
Ticket prices are $17 up to $77 and are on sale now. MercyMe is an
American contemporary Christian band founded in Greenville, Texas.
The band consists of vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Bryson,
percussionist Robin Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarists
Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul. The band formed in 1994 and
released six independent albums prior to signing with INO Records in
2001. The group first gained mainstream recognition with the
crossover single, "I Can Only Imagine" which elevated their debut album.
Almost There, to becoming certified double platinum. Since then,
the group has released five additional studio albums, four of which have
been certified gold, and a greatest hits album. MercyMe has won
numerous Dove Awards and has had various Grammy Award nominations.
