Lenten Prayer Vigil
Our Lenten Prayer Vigil
will be held on Friday, March 16th. Lent, observed between Ash
Wednesday and Easter, is the time when we Christians prepare our hearts
to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. This year, our Lenten Prayer Vigil will be held the week
before the Holy Spirit Conference that will be held here at OUMC.
We anticipate a mighty & powerful moving of the Holy Spirit on our
congregation as we seek Him. For additional information,

Healing Service
Healing services are held every regularly at Oakland Church. If you have a need or problem
and desire healing, this service is for you. The service consists
of prayer and praise. Many healings and miracles have taken place
as a result of the Healing Services. Healing Services are held on Friday
evenings at 7:00 pm. For additional information, please

Prayer Team for VBS 2012
We are in the process of forming a VBS
2012 Prayer Team!! This is an exciting opportunity to join
together and pray that God will lead us every step of the way as we
prepare in the next year for Vacation Bible School. We are
confident that this will have a huge impact on OUMC's VBS ministry and
that God will be able to use us in even bigger ways to touch the hearts
of His children!! Please prayerfully consider joining with us in

A.S.K. (Ask - Seek - Knock) Ministry
This newly named group, A.S.K. seeks to encourage,
unite and mobilize Christian women of the world to pray and fast for the
local church, community, nation and the world. The A.S.K. name was
adopted from Matthew 7:7. "Ask and it will be given to you; Seek
and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you. A.S.K. is
one part of the Women's Ministry at OUMC. The
Scriptural foundation of this ministry is Acts 16 which
states: Women are committed to regular days of prayer and fasting,
there is emphasis on the Word of God for insight and direction for
prayer and Vision sparked by mission contact operates in the world

Oakland UM Prayer Chain
The Prayer Chain members
pray daily for the needs of Oakland's church family, community, and
the world. Ellen Kirsch heads up the online email prayer chain
and prayer requests are sent out every morning as well as other times
during the day when there are emergencies, special requests or updates. Prayer requests are also relayed by phone to those on the
prayer chain. Members and visitors may complete prayer request
cards and place them in the offering on Sunday morning services. For

Prayer Room
The Oakland Prayer Room is a room in the
church specifically dedicated to prayer. In the Prayer Room, you
may visit several areas decorated in a way that will enhance your prayer
experience. The Prayer Room is always open! There is also a
book of miracles where you can read testimonies of answered prayers from

School Prayer Zones
Please be a prayer zone
partner. The National Network of Youth Ministries has set a bold
prayer goal for us: Every school zone - a prayer zone.
Prayers are to intercede for every school in the United States. A
prayer zone partner is someone who commits to pray for the students,
teachers, administrators, board members, workers, etc. every time they
drive through a school zone. Please choose a school and pray
diligently every day for that school. Each time you see a school
bus or stop for flashing lights, PRAY! School zones can become war
zones! James 5:16 "The prayer of a righteous man has great power". For
