A. S. K. Prayer Ministry |
The A. S.
K. Prayer Ministry seeks to encourage, unite and mobilize Christian
women of the world to pray and fast for the local church, community,
nation and the world. |

Audio Ministry |
The Audio
Ministry involves duplication of CD's or VHS tapes of church services
or other special events. |
| |
|
|
Audit Team |
Provides a
check and balance system ensuring good stewardship of God's financial
gifts to OUMC. |

|
|
Auxiliary Mission Team |
The Auxiliary Mission
Team helps the Mission Team with collections, packing and other
administrative duties. |

|
|
Blood Pressure Ministry |
Qualified individuals
give blood pressure readings to those attending church on Sunday
morning once a month. |

|
Cable TV & Television Ministry |
Oversees the taping of
"Sharing With You", Oakland's TV show on the local cable station or
assists with any other television related ministries. |

Caring Meals |
Provide meals for those
returning home from the hospital or others with temporary health
problems. |
| |
|
|
Chancel Choir Ministry |
Sing special anthems
during the 8:30 am Sunday morning Worship Services and assist in
leading worship as well as provide music for other special events
during the year. |

Child Care |
Interact and care for the
youngest of Oakland's church family (0-4 years) during Worship
Services, and occasionally for special events. |

Children's Choir |
Sing at various times throughout the
year and on special occasions such as Christmas & Easter. |

Children's Church
/ Godly Play |
Teachers and Assistant
Teachers who instruct and lead children in worship downstairs during
the sermon time in the sanctuary. |

Children's Ministry Team |
The Children's Ministry
Team have a passion for children and work with the Children's Coach in
planning and implementing ministries for children ages birth - 5th
grade. |

Communion Ministry
to Shut-Ins |
Take Communion to
shut-ins and hospital patients on the days where Oakland celebrates
Communion in the worship services. |

Communion Stewards |
Prepare the Communion
elements for Worship Services. |

|
|
Conference Camping Ministry |
Provides an
opportunity for all age levels to have access to camping experiences
offered by the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference. |

Counting Team |
This team
verifies and processes the weekly tithes and offerings of OUMC in a
confidential manner as well as any related administrative work. |

Dance Ministry |
Oakland's
Liturgical Dance Team provides inspiration through the art of dance as
well as helping to lead worship for morning services and special
events. |

Drama
Ministry |
Use the creative art of
Drama, either as actors or technical persons, to help visualize God's
Word and to enhance the Pastor's message. |

Ecumenical Ministry |
To
facilitate the growth and maturity of the OUMC church family by
working and worshipping with other churches in Johnstown to
bring about unity in Christ's church. |

Food Pantry |
This
ministry exists to help people who may need a few extra groceries to
get them through the month. Involves packing groceries for those
in need. |

Funeral Dinner Ministry |
Prepare and serve dinners
at the church to bereaved families on the day of the funeral. |

Godly Play Ministry |
Godly Play uses a style of storytelling that
allows children ages 4 through 3rd grade to encounter and experience
God and respond to the stories of God. |

|
Greeter Ministry |
Greet people, in an
inviting and friendly manner, as they enter the church for Worship
Services. |
| |
|
|
Health Ministry |
Dedicated to
empowering the members of the congregation to take responsibility for
their own health through education. |
| |
|
|
Helping Hands |
Help out primarily with
office work such as mailings, stuffing bulletins, answering machines,
etc. |
| |
|
|
Hospitality Ministry |
Prepare light
refreshments and occasionally light meals for various church
functions. |
| |
|
|
Igniting Ministry |
Help with program that
involves advertisement and promotion of OUMC in reaching those
un-churched in the community. |

Investment Team |
Provides
opportunities for members and friends of OUMC to make gifts to the
church that will last long after they are gone on to their eternal
reward. |

Kids Camp |
Provides a
week-long camping trip to Jumonville where children can have fun as
well as grow in a deeper relationship with Christ and one another. |

|
|
Library Ministry |
Maintain the Church
Library and assist with various clerical and administrative duties. |

Little Praise Dancers |
Ministry for
children that teaches them how to dance as an art form of worship. |
| |

|
Men's Ministry |
The Men's Ministry do
various special events, classes, retreats and outreach activities
throughout the year. |

Missions Team |
Supports various mission,
individuals and outreach ministries locally and throughout the world. |

M & M Class Ministry |
The purpose
of the Mary & Martha Class is to love and serve the Lord in any way
possible. |

Networking Team |
Help to
place members of the congregation in various ministries that are best
suited for them based on their spiritual gifts, heart, passion,
abilities, personality and experiences. |

|
Nursery & Child Care |
Provide nursery and child
care during worship services and for other special events as needed. |

Praise Band & Worship Team |
Provide inspirational
music and lead worship at the 11 am Sunday morning service as well as
for other special events throughout the year. |

Prayer Chain |
The Prayer Chain members
pray daily for the needs of Oakland's church family, community, and
the world. |

|
|
Prayer Ministers |
Prayer
Ministers pray over the building, undergird the pastor and leadership
and support anyone in the congregation who desire prayer during prayer
time or before or after worship services. |

|
|
Prayer Shawl Ministry |
This group meets once every other
month on the third thursday to knit, crochet, pray and fellowship.
Created Prayer Shawls will be given to those in need or anyone needing a
warming touch around them. |

|
|
|
Retired Men's Breakfast Fellowship |
This group meets once a month and their
ministry provides an opportunity for fellowship, a time of prayer and
a brief study. |

|
|
Screen Ministry |
Operate the multi-media
screen and Power Point presentations, primarily for worship services. |
| |
|
|
Secret Friend Ministry |
Support college students
and military personnel from Oakland through letters, care packages,
etc. so that they know their church family has not forgotten them. |

|
|
Shut-In Visitation Servants |
Serve in a one-on-one
relationship with shut-ins or others needing help. |
| |
|
|
Small Groups |
Small groups serve as a
way to connect and inter-act with others at OUMC in a caring and
intimate setting. |

S.O.F.A. Ministry |
Children's
Ministry which stands for "Serving Our Father Artistically or
Athletically". This program focuses on singing, dance, stories,
sports and service. |

Sound Ministry |
Operate the sound system
primarily for worship services, special events and weddings. |
| |
|
|
Sunday School Ministry |
Provides
forum to teach children, youth and adults about the Word of God and
help them apply it to their lives. Classes are offered for all
age groups and geared for the appropriate age level. |

Transportation Ministry |
Drive the church van to
provide transportation for congregation members and others who need a
ride to worship services and other church events. |
| |
|
|
Trustees Ministry |
This Team is
entrusted to see to the proper keeping of God's house as a way to
honor God and to facilitate the ministry of OUMC. |

|
|
Usher Ministry |
Help to keep the worship
services flowing smoothly and assist those with special needs or
concerns.. |
| |
|
|
Vacation Bible School |
Provide a
fun-filled week of activities for the children of OUMC and the
community by sharing the gospel. |

Women's Ministry |
The Women's Ministry do
various special events, classes, retreats and outreach activities
throughout the year. |

Youth Ministry |
The Youth Team have a
passion for youth and work with the Youth Pastor to implement
ministries and activities for youths in grades 6 through 12. |

Youth Praise Band |
This band provides a relevant means for
youth to experience and help lead worship to the congregation at OUMC. |
