Living a Life of Faith in America Today

Religion, as we know, has made a great impact in the life of Americans and people across other parts of the world. America is dominated mostly by Christians, but most of these Christians when interviewed, claim to go to church on a monthly or weekly basis. But how can we as Americans be able to lead a life of faith with the growth of social vices?

Seeking God

“Ask, and it shall be given unto you, seek, and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened upon you” This is a very popular verse of the Bible which we should all know by now. To live a life of faith, one must seek God and his ways. Getting on your knees in prayer to ask him for forgiveness is a wise to do. Also, the importance of studying God’s word effectively can never be overrated. Make out time to study God’s word and pray effectively, as this would guide you in the long run of life. It would also help you in surviving and resisting the devil.  Here is some help seeking God.

Be Careful

Watch and pray, lest thou fall into temptation”. Jesus Christ was clear and simple when he said those words, there are not parables, but direct messages unto his disciples and other people who would care to hear. Being careful of the company you keep, the place you visit and the things you say, hear and watch would help you progress further in living a faithful life. “ Come out from among them”. This is a famous quote from the Bible, which you should devote yourself to every day and every time. The “Them” in this context refers to the workers of iniquity, the world and all things that are not of them. In the Bible, it is written that “if a man loves the world, then the love of the father is not in him.” So, try to get out of doing evil or things not recommended by God as being good. This would help you to be able to live a life of faith in the present world.

Abandon the desires of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit” (Rom. 8:5). The lust of the flesh causes sin and makes you deviate from your faith. Abandoning the lust of the flesh would not only save you from sin but also prevent you from falling into temptations.

Living a life of faith is something you can be able to achieve if you constantly read your Bible and follow the steps above. Also, regular attendance of Church meetings can also help to bolster your faith.

Learning to Live a Life Filled with Gratitude
When you lose something, it’s only a matter of time that you realize how much you actually appreciate it. Majority of us have taken something or someone for granted and we only realize how much important they were to us afterwards. We spend much of our time and energy thinking of things that we don’t like, what we think might need fixing and changing or what is worrying us. We live in a world where its obsessed with the bad things; just look around you and hear what people are saying, there are plenty of negative attitudes and conversations.
What if we decide to stop all the negative obsession and start paying attention to whom or what we appreciate at the moment? imagine how this shift in focus could actually change our lives, relationships and families. This does not mean that you avoid or deny all the challenges that come your way or even ignore what surrounds us, learn to face and deal with all the difficulties that are in front of you. Don’t obsess about the bad things that it comes to a point where it runs your lives. We all have the right to choose to focus on the good things in our lives. There are plenty of good things happening around you every day. You even converse with amazing people each day but you will only realize this if you decide to recognize it and acknowledge it through your words, thoughts and actions.
Use this few principles to help you live a life full of gratitude and enjoyment;
1. Choose to only think of positive feelings and thoughts – make a decision to alter your negative feelings and thoughts into ones that empower you.
2. Be thankfulfocus only on the blessings that are in your life and also all that you have to be thankful for.
3. Recognize others – let your focus be in appreciating all the people around you and also make a point of letting them know too. Let them know of the positive influence that they have on you and your life.
4. Always appreciate yourself – salute what you do, who you are and all the many talents and gifts you have. Self appreciation is a recognition of your power and it is also a key to fulfillment, success and self confidence; it is not arrogance.
5. Use positive words – pay attention to the words you use when talking about different things, how you talk about others and most of all how you speak about yourself. Always speak positive words as much as possible. Our words have the strength to create and not only to describe.
You don’t have to wait until everything becomes perfect or everything is handled and you don’t also have to wait for people to do things exactly the way you want them to. Start by appreciating yourself, others and also life just as it is at the moment.

Your wedding is meant to be one of the most significant days in your life. It is the day when you will marry your true love and should be a happy one, but there are certain factors that could ruin the merriment of the experience. One of these factors is the presence of specific guests that could make the ceremony uncomfortable, upsetting or distressing. This is the reason why you should take care when planning your wedding’s guest list like in Parsley Box

Before considering who you should invite to the wedding, it is important that you look at your budget and the size of the reception site. It will not make sense to invite over 100 guests if the reception venue cannot accommodate them or you do not have the budget to feed them. Once you have looked at these issues, it is recommended that you jot down the people who are most important to you and need to be invited; then work your way down to the people who do not matter as much. This is a terrible way to rank people in your life, but it is a necessity when choosing the most suitable people to invite to your wedding.

1. The Parents

In some cases, parents will request that guests are invited despite you not being able to accommodate them or not wanting them on the guest list. To ensure that this does not happen, it is important that you inform the families early on that only a certain amount of the guest list is allocated to each family. For example, one-third is for the groom’s family, one-third for the bride’s family, and one-third for friends. This is a good formula to keep the guest list organized, but it may not always be so easy to manage in reality.

2. Ex-Partners

While inviting an ex-partner to a wedding may be considered taboo, it can also be considered acceptable under certain circumstances. For example, if one shares children with an ex then he or she should be able to invite the ex-partner to a wedding. The problem is that the presence of an ex-partner at a wedding ceremony can cause a flare of emotions among your new partner and this can be uncomfortable. It is important that the decision of whether or not to invite ex-partners to be made beforehand by the couple.

3. Children

While you may love children, it is not always beneficial to have children attend a wedding ceremony. A child, particularly a young child, will become bored during the ceremony and the reception resulting in disruptions on the wedding day. They may cause their parents distress and could lead to the parents having to leave early. It is possible to hire a sitter and organize games for the children to play, but this can be an extra expense that you could eliminate by requesting that children do not attend the ceremony.

4. Past Friends

If you are no longer friends with people from your past or do not keep in regular contact with them, you should not feel obliged to invite them to your wedding day. When making these decisions, it is important to ask yourself if the guest is part of your life and if you want them in your future. If you do not, then this means they do not mean anything to you and should be excluded from the guest list.
